For the Love of the County and Facebook Contest!

Dear Friends,

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope that this Valentine's Day you are spending the day with the ones you love. I know I am. I feel so lucky to be here every day in the county I love. Clackamas County is an extraordinary collective of urban and rural, cities and unincorporated land and all the communities with differing views for the future. Even with all of our differences, we can come together over our true needs.

We need a thriving economy. We need jobs. We need to get Clackamas working again. I am here asking for your support, so I can help do just that. I have a proven record of helping businesses get the support they need from county government, to expand and create living wage jobs. I believe I can help bring growth to the county again.

With that focus, this Valentine's Day I am buying my chocolate from a local chocolatier, I'm purchasing my flowers from nearby farms, I'm spending my money at businesses owned locally, so that I can help my friends in Clackamas County. I hope that you will join me in shopping in the county, so that we can keep our dollars working for us and the local businesses that need our support.

Thank you to everyone who lives, works, and plays in Clackamas County. Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!

Warm Regards,

Martha

Building Business

Recently, Martha had the opportunity to visit JVNW, Inc., a local business located right in Martha's hometown of Canby. President David Jones, pictured left, gave Martha the tour of their engineering and manufacturing facility. They design and build unique vessels to fit the needs of their clients. JVNW makes stainless steel tanks, mixers and systems used in several industries, including food, beer, wine, juice, cosmetics, alternative energy and more. Martha was extremely impressed by their facility and innovative methods.

Like many local businesses, JVNW has a need for skilled, trained workers. Martha understands the need to expand technical and vocational programs in our region to ensure people get jobs and businesses have the workforce they need to succeed.
